Story Location Inspiration

 

The inspiration for the canyons that Bluestreak and Jazz are trapped in (from my story The Ghost of the Howling Plains) came partially from this place, near where I grew up. (Except the canyons/caves in the story are on several orders of magnitude deeper… The canyon they fell into is about a kilometre deep.)

When I was little, I wondered what would happen if these crevasses would snap shut: would you be trapped? Would you be crushed? I loved this place: it felt like a secret underworld that you could explore.
