Summary: After saving Cybertron from destruction, Bluestreak made a promise to his eldest brother Smokescreen that he would return to Praxus to celebrate his bonding to Hound. But when he arrives in the walled kingdom, Bluestreak finds himself plunged back into the same oppressive morass that he escaped from... Except this time, someone is out to kill him and his brothers.

Chapter 6: At a reception in his and Hound’s honour, Bluestreak faces the King’s inner Court for the first time since his arrival in Praxus.
So since I started writing TF fanfic in 2017, this has been the first year that I've written all year. There wasn't a single month in which I didn't write, contrasted to years and years before where I didn't write fiction at all because the spark had gone out of it for me. Thank you again, TF fandom, for giving me that spark back. (Pun totally intended.)

So, briefly, here are my writing accomplishments in 2018. I didn't keep track of word count; I could probably go back and sort of reverse engineer how many words I wrote, but it wouldn't be exact and that would bug me. I like accurate metrics. :D

I completed and posted 15 works on Archive of our Own. Of those works, 1 was rated General Audience, 5 were Teen and Up, 6 were Mature, 2 were Explicit, and 1 was unrated (since it was a prompt compilation). Total, the works completed in 2018 had 239,803 words, but that included Renegade, which was more than halfway done on January 1.

I also "won" Nanowrimo! The story isn't finished yet, but I've started posting the first chapters of it.

I'm also going to borrow [personal profile] ladydragon76 idea of posting the first line from the first story from each month there was a story completed. :)

January: The Renegade and the Hound (first chapter posted in 2018 was chapter 11) - It took almost three full cycles for all of the destroyed frames to be hauled back to Iacon.

February: Public Indecency - Jazz bounced on his pedes as they entered the park.

March: After Tempest - It had been a good hunt.

June: Pulling Strings - Most of the notes were there, in his helm.

July: Reciprocity - Hound started feeling off as he was coming up the last stretch of highway before the turnoff for the Ark.

September: Mudflaps - Hound gritted his dentae and tried to half-transform his left leg assembly.

October: A Thousand Years - Sideswipe shifted uncomfortably on the rocky surface, but was careful not to disturb Sunstreaker.

November: October Prompt Bingo 2018 - It might have been better if it was a proper haunting, with a proper spirit or ghost.

In 2019, I'm going to try not to be so slavish about word count. It's a good carrot for me, but not at the expense of burning myself out. I am pretty good about only working on stories that I'm pretty excited about; however, when I see that X amount of time has passed and I haven't posted anything, I get antsy. I need to get over that.

Things on the writing slate right now include:
  • Finishing A Bonding, a Coronation, and a Funeral
  • Finishing the two smutty bunnies that I've been working on in between chapters of Bonding
  • Delve into that werewolf!Hound AU that I started during the October Bingo event and finish the story arc
  • Play in the Decepticon!Bluestreak AU to see what happens there
  • Work on a special bunny that [personal profile] balloonarcade and I have been throwing back and forth
Here's to a happy and healthy 2019!
