A caveat - I tried to just pick fics that are completed. While I have a lot of excellent fics in my subscriptions on AO3, I figured I’d post ones that are done, for that instant gratification rush. :)
Also - if you know a Tumblr handle for the authors I’m missing, please let me know so I can tag them!
Oh, fluff. Sometimes I skim right past it, and sometimes it’s exactly what I need.
I’ve got two recommendations for this category.
April Showers by eerian_sadow.
Finding your perfect match is a miracle that Jazz wasn’t really hoping for. So, he could never have imagined that he would meet his as acid rain ate off his plating. And he definitely never thought there would be two of them.
I loved this fic from the first time I read it. It’s a romance about two people finding a third to fill a hole they didn’t know they had in their lives. I love how Jazz ends up worming his way - totally unintended - into the fabric of Prowl and Bluestreak’s lives, simply by being a friend. And then the scene where it all comes to a head because of something Jazz did (trying to keep this spoiler free!), and they finally sit down and talk about things, is just lovely.
Contains explicit scenes of cooking and making tea.
Constructing a Family by rizobact and Skylar_Matthews.
The war is finally over and Cybertron is in a time of tentative peace as former soldiers attempt to settle back into civilian lives. Then Jazz starts receiving anonymous gifts at the bar where he works. Is it just an overzealous fan or is this the start of something far more complicated?
I still think that IDW dropped the ball a bit with regards to Prowl and the Constructicons. (Specifically, how it becomes obvious that Prowl has started subconsciously accepting of himself being a part of the gestalt.) I really feel like there’s more story to be told there, but they seem to have let it drop.
This story veers off in a fanon direction but fills in some of those holes beautifully. In this story, Prowl doesn’t resent the Constructicons, and they teach him how to… Well, open up a bit? Great story!
