It’s that time again! Time to share your favourite Transformers fanfics!
A caveat - I tried to just pick fics that are completed. While I have a lot of excellent fics in my subscriptions on AO3, I am only posting ones that are done, for that instant gratification rush. :)
Here are my recommendations from 2018.
*******************************************************************
I have a problem with recommending one-shots, mostly because the stories that appeal to me are longer… Or if they’re shorter, they’re just smut. ;)
Anyway, here are two recommendations this time.
The Soft Rush of Black Static by Monstrosibee.
This short little fix-it brought all those emotions back and then healed them. I loved this.
Justice And Mercy by spockandawe.
I can’t even get into how perfect this is, but if you’ve read Ann Leckie’s novels I think you’ll find this just as delightful as I did.

Prowl doesn’t know a lot of bots on this newly salvaged Cybertron, and he definitely doesn’t know the bot intruding on his construction site. While this fic is essentially a fix-it fic for a story from the Aligned continuity, it just destroyed me. You can read the basics of what happened between Bluestreak and Prowl on TFWiki (at the end of Chapter 7 of The Covenant of Primus) but it was devastating to actually read.

Now that you’re watching for it, you can see the faint, faint signs of anger in the ancillaries escorting you. Justice of Prowl is difficult to read, as far as ships go, and it’s been a challenge learning to see what Ship doesn’t want to tell you directly, but its anger is familiar to you by now. From there, it’s simply a matter of considering what you know of your ship’s desires and activities, what it might have done and what might have gone wrong. Ship still has the majority of its ancillaries, only two decades of human troops, and has never hesitated to involve itself in any and all manner of politicking, so there is a great deal that might be the problem, but you’ve still formed some educated guesses by the time you reach the Station Security office. This is a crossover fic between the Imperial Radch series (highly recommended!) and TFs, in which the TFs are the ships.
I can’t even get into how perfect this is, but if you’ve read Ann Leckie’s novels I think you’ll find this just as delightful as I did.
