It’s that time again! Time to share your favourite Transformers fanfics!
A caveat - I only picked fics that are completed. While I have a lot of excellent fics in my subscriptions on AO3, I am only posting ones that are done, for that instant gratification rush. :)
Here are my recommendations from 2018.

It is hard writing a multi-chapter fic, but they’re so glorious to read. Here are two recommendations for longer, multi-chapter fics.
Broken Pieces by Lush_Specimen
If this story hadn’t gone so deep into the trauma that Fort Max had experienced in Garrus-9, this could have qualified for a fluffy story. As it is, it works really well.
Unravel by tragakes
Ever since reading their story in IDW, I have been totally captivated by the thought of Senator Shockwave and Orion Pax being more than friends. I mean, did you notice during Shadowplay that Shockwave paints himself to look like Orion?
This fic fills in the gaps in the canon story, up to the known conclusion of what happens to Shockwave at the end. Prepare to have your heart ripped out, stomped on, put back, and then tortured. There’s no happy ending here, as anyone who read the comic knows… But it’s so good getting to that ending.

Prowl decided to stay on Luna 1 to try to repair his friendship with Fortress Maximus. Too bad he has no idea how to go about it. When Max has to investigate a disturbance Red Alert discovered on Garrus 9, Prowl invites himself along.Prowl, Fort Max, the Scavengers… What’s not to love? The dialogue is spot-on, and I’ve always had a soft spot for IDW-based fics in which Prowl tries to atone for what an ass he’s been.
Taking place after Lost Light #15 and alternating POV between Prowl and Fort Max.
